Brandon Llewellyn arrives at GateWay with a rich background as both a high-level collegiate pitcher and a passionate teacher of the mound. A native of Colleyville, Texas, Brandon graduated from the renowned IMG Academy (Class of 2020), where he played two years of varsity baseball. During his time at IMG, Brandon was part of a national-championship squad in 2019—his junior season—when the team was ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today and he earned MVP pitcher honors at the tournament. At the end of high school he was ranked among the top 250 players nationally and 73rd among right-handed pitchers. 

Brandon continued his career at Pepperdine University, where he steadily developed into a reliable starter for the Waves. As a freshman he went 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA, leading the team in wins. In his sophomore year he made 13 starts, threw a season-high 8.0 shutout innings vs. the University of San Diego, and posted a 4.14 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 71.2 innings. His junior season saw him appear in 13 games (11 starts), registering a season-high nine strikeouts in a start vs. Portland and tossing 7.0 innings at Pacific. 

Off the mound, Brandon is continuing his education at Arizona State Univeristy, and  brings his own story of chasing big dreams—he says his dream of winning a College World Series began when he was just eight years old. He is known for his disciplined approach, strong work ethic (committing to weight-room work and performance improvements beyond the season) and genuine desire to mentor younger pitchers.
