Dave "Tyke" Tykoski is a student-focused coach with a passion for helping young athletes achieve their goals. He currently serves as the Assistant Baseball Coach for Infielders at Gateway Community College, a position he has held since 2015.
Prior to his time at Gateway, Tyke was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Dobson High School from 2003 to 2014. During his tenure, he was honored with the 2006 East Valley Region Coach of the Year and the 2011 Central Region Coach of the Year awards. His high school coaching philosophy involved creating highly organized practice plans and implementing programs to develop students' academic and life skills.
In addition to his college and high school roles, Coach Tyke has extensive experience with USA Baseball. He has served as a scout since 2003 and has been a Trails Coach for the 16U National Team and the Women's National Team.
Coach Tyke holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Biology from Hillsdale College and a Master's in Coaching and Leadership from Concordia University, Irvine. In his free time Tyke enjoyes spending time with his daughters and surfing.
